PLEASE NOTE: When applying on the GTTP website please ensure you apply for the correct course using the correct code. Although we have close links with the University of Cumbria (UOC) our SCITT based course in Workington has absolutely no connection with any of the PGCE courses based in Carlisle, Lancaster or Tower Hamlets. A new website is being developed to allow us to use this Moodle for the 2011/2012 cohort and school based mentors. The course fees for 2012/2013 have not been set but further information will not be available until March. It is expected they will be £9000. Information about student grants and loans is available from the Directgov website (See link below) This year bursaries are available for trainees with a 1st class degree (£9000) and a 2:1 (£5000). There is clear guidance on the Directgov wesite regarding the repayment of a student loan that is based on your income on gaining employment after qualification. In your NQT year, your employer will calculate your repayment and take it off your salary every month with your tax. If you earn less than £21,000, you won’t have any repayments deducted from your salary until you earn at least £21,000. Above that it is deducted on a sliding scale.
